If you’re planting fruit and veg crops this spring, please think about growing a little more this year to share with Foodbank clients. The numbers of households using the Foodbank have continued to rise and we need your help to continue to support everyone in need.
If you’re already a keen gardener, or an allotment holder please plant a bigger crop this year so surplus food can be donated to the Foodbank. You don’t need a big space to take part, even an extra tomato growbag or beans grown in a patio container will help. If you want to take part, please message the Foodbank either via their Facebook page or email at email@example.com. Details of how where to take your harvest will be provided closer to the time.
Why get involved?
Growing your own food is incredibly rewarding – and delicious too, but so often we end up with a glut that means wonderful produce goes to waste. This year take your spare fruit and veg to the Foodbank and help feed people in real need. New gardeners and children might enjoy the challenge of seeing their seedlings grow into tasty food!
How to get involved?
If you are getting involved, it would be very helpful if you could please contact us to let us know, so we can get an idea of how many people are taking part.
