YMCA Brunel Group are taking part with 11 other YMCAs across the country in a mammoth virtual Sleep Easy event on Friday 26th March; with the aim of raising awareness and vital funds to help tackle the root causes of homelessness.
This Sleep Easy will look different to previous years as COVID-19 has not just had an impact on homelessness services, but on fundraising as well. Traditionally, an event that brings lots of the community together in one place, this year will see people going solo, or with their families; and swapping the streets for bathtubs, sofas, garden tents or anywhere Covid restrictions allow – other than a bed! It lasts from 7pm on 26th March - 7am on 27th March.
Why get involved?
Please help us raise awareness and money to help change the lives of vulnerable people. All the money raised goes directly to our YMCA Brunel Group projects; impacting our local community and helping disadvantaged young people build a future.
There’s no registration fee this year; just get involved and donate or raise a minimum of £10 to take part.
Last year, a young person was made homeless every hour in England; and hundreds of people spent at least one night on the streets.
It is hoped that this special collaborative event will help YMCA Brunel Group raise even more funding than ever, with a target of £10,000.
How to get involved?
The deadline to register is 5pm on 19 March so just accept this challenge and we will email you the link to sign up.
