Sew Buntiful Wells is an art project in kindness to help see us through the lockdown and to bring some colour to our city to celebrate our communty. We want to expand the kindess that has been on offer and celebrate it. We are aiming to cover the whole city in colourful bunting to symbolise the connections we have all made during the lockdowns and our hope for the future.
Make a string of bunting using any materials you can repurpose, recycle and upcycle. You could use your old clothes, bedding and sheets waiting to go to the charity shop, plastic bags or even your old cat food pouches. Knitted or crocheted bunting is also welcome. 'Buntify' your house, your street, your neighbourhood, or make a swag of bunting for the city centre.
Be as creative as you like. There will be prizes for the most creative bunting, best junior and best beginner categories and best handsewn bunting.
The only thing we ask is that if you are decorating your bunting with writing that you keep it clean and don't use it for political slogans.
We can help with bunting tape if you don't have any. We will also run bunting Zoom sessions - look out for a different challenge.
